Living in Texas I pretty much live and breathe motorcycles - as a job working in the motorcycle industry and a passion - since age 12 ( yes I am ancient ) If I wasn't on two wheels I would prefer hanging out at the beach with my surfboards. I have met the finest people on earth through motorcycling and surfing - just do what you like and have fun with it, you only get one shot at this deal....

Colorado Dual Sport Sept 09 : Another Labor Day week trip to the Rockies with a new crew, and new destination. We based ourselves in Ouray, and rode mountain passes, roads and trails between Lake City, Telluride, Ouray, Silverton and Ridgway. Five great days of riding and relaxation with fantastic weather, no flats , just way too much fun !

9 states , 6300 miles , July 2007 : An invitation to visit my friend Thad in Kennewick Washington and spend a 3 day weekend 1000 mile ride based at the WR Ranch in Fossil OR riding with a group of PNW sportbike riders was too good to pass up - so I made the 2200 mile trip up there from Texas - it was worth the ride! A side trip to Hood River OR for the 4th of July, then another jaunt to Montana and Glacier National Park, Wyoming and Colorado before heading home - total ride mileage of 6300+ miles. Most photos by me , with some photos by Thad Stelly and Eric Anderson taken in Fossil OR.

Colorado Dual Sport Trip Sept 06 : In early September 06' Larry & I took the KLR's to Colorado for a week of riding the passes and peaks. The weather was great ( except one day -brrrr....) and by the end of the trip we had ridden over 1200 miles, ridden over 18 mountain summits and passes, and had a total GPS ascent total of over 100,000 feet accumulated, not from sea level but actual feet climbed. No flats, no crashes, just a ton of fun!

AF1 Aprilia Weekend & Trackday : AF1 Aprilia in New Braunfels Texas had it's grand opening weekend in May, with lot's of BBQ, a hill country ride day, and a trackday at Texas World Speedway. Over 100 Aprilia's from all over the USA were there and it was a great weekend!

Big Bend Dual Sport Trip Dec 05 : The weekend before XMAS Larry, Mike and I joined a few friends and fellow riders on a Dual Sport adventure in Big Bend / Terlingua Ranch West Texas - about 40 riders were there to particiapte in a ride cordinated by Steve "Rocketman" Smith. The ride turned bittersweet as Steve's son was fatally injured early on the first day of the ride from a hard fall on Old Ore Road... we continued the ride through day two in his honor and tried to find some way to soothe our sadness for his family and friends. Godspeed Minirocketman!!!

Katrina relief trip : We issued a "challenge" to the motorcycle industry to send new clothing for us to deliver to Louisiana - they responded with over 12,000 items of clothing ( 5000 lbs ) Alloy MX alone sent 7,300 items of casual wear!!! We delivered these items to various shelters in the "Katrina Zone" on Thursday September 8th with the help of many friends. MotoGP Trip/Ride July 05 : I flew to Seattle, picked up this barely used GS in Port Townsend WA ( thanks Owen & Mike! ) met my friend Thad and his Tiger in Randle near St Helens and rode 2k miles down the WA, OR, NorCal coast areas to Monterey - Tuesday in NorCal was a perfect day of riding as good as anyone could ask for ending in SF.. a great trip!

Paris / Belgium April 05 : Flying in and out of Paris for the Zolder MX trip gave us a little time to take in some of the sights - We were at Notre Dame the day after the Pope died - thousands of mourners and candles - we walked from Notre Dame , through the Louve, down Champs Elyesse, the the Arch de Triumph and then Eiffel Tower at Sunset in one day - a whirlwind tour - Lots of bikes and scooters everywhere, heavy traffic, but some fantastic archetecture.

MotoGP Laguna Seca 05 : the FIRST MotoGP in the United States! We rode our bikes to Monterey from Washington, met a few friends and watched Nicky Hayden beat ROSSI ! We had pit passes and the access to many riders was amazing - Then - I rode the GS all the way back to Texas - in JULY. I crossed the Mojave desert in the middle of the afternoon at 112 degrees - scorching! Then taking the high roads through AZ & NM to see some great scenery... It was nice to ride back into Texas hill country down 71 from Brady to Austin in the rain - home after 5K miles....

San Luis Pass / Surfside Highway Post Ike : We took a ride on the Breva down to Galveston Oct 16th to check out the Post Ike damage. We didn't stay in Galveston long. So many traffic lights still out, workers, trucks, stench, and debris everywhere. ( kinda expected it but was a reality check ) So we headed down to San Luis Pass. More destruction and debris along West beach communities slowly turned to desolation near the pass. The bridge was unattended so we crossed to Treasure Island which had no power and seemed empty also. There we were met with several "Road Closed" signs. Well we went ahead to find out exactly why the road was closed, we didn't know it would turn into a dual sport adventure.

Colorado Dual Sport Sept 08 : Another Labor Day Week trip to Central Colorado to ride the rockies. Larry, Tim and I rode about 1200 miles of dirt roads , jeep trails and some single track with altitudes as high as 14,200+. We started in Colorado Springs, then stayed in Evergreen, Georgetown, Fairplay and Leadville along the way. The weather and riding were as good as it gets !
